Meditation is the most essential practice that helps us to be conscious of our daily thoughts. It is a practice of purifying the mind. Countless benefits come with this ancient practice, to summarize them all it is effortless living.

Meditation

In this article, I want to share with you the times, places, and conditions in which it is impossible and possible to meditate proclaimed in the book The Mastery of Destiny by James Allen. Those who gave up doing this practice and those who found this practice to be difficult not simply couldn’t do the exercise but because of his environment and/or times It was impossible for that person to engage in the practice.

If you’re a beginner or you find it difficult to meditate or you gave up and you want to start over, the following are Times, Places, And Conditions in which it is impossible to meditate:

1. At, or immediately after, meals.

2. In places of pleasure

3. In crowded place

4. While walking rapidly

5. While lying in bed in the morning

6. Listening to non-mantra content

7. When smoking

8.While lying on a couch or bed for physical or mental relaxation

Times, Places, And Conditions in which it is difficult to Meditate:

1. At Night.

2. a luxuriously furnished room.

3. While sitting on a soft, yielding seating.

Times, Places, And Conditions in which it is best to meditate:

1.Very early in the morning.

2. Immediately before meals.

3. In solitude.

4.In the open air or a furnished room.

5.While sitting on a hard seat.

6.When the body is strong and vigorous.

7.When the body is modestly and plainly clothed.

“The body, too, should be neither overfed nor starved; neither in rags nor flauntingly clothed. It should not be tired, but should be at its highest point of energy and strength, as the holding of the mind to the concentrated train of subtle and lofty thought requires a high degree of both physical and mental energy…” James Allen

All that I have mentioned above is crucial when one begins meditation. Mastery is key to effortless doing.
